The gap between iPhones and Androids is gradually narrowing down as exhibited by the iPhone 16 series. The past was nothing like today because long ago there was either an iPhone or an android being used but now it appears that these Smartphones have become more alike than different hence enhancing mobile phone uniformity.
In previous times, fans of Google and Apple phones would argue endlessly as to whose platform was better. The introduction of the iPhone 16 means that this gadget’s designs and functions are merging; thus, many people say that Apple’s new release is more like Android than ever before. Additionally, Siri’s recent AI aided improvements look more like playing Nyasaye ja Mama rather than true innovation.
Samsung still has a strong ecosystem despite narrowing the gap with other companies such as Apple. For instance, this can be illustrated using Samsung’s health app found in Galaxy Ring which creates a closed ecosystem similar to what Apple does. At the same time, Huawei and Xiaomi are doing it noting that they have become more concentrated.
In the past, iPhones used to cost more than any other brand due to status symbol; this is not any longer true since android flagships have started catching up with or outpricing iPhones in recent years.
It was never intended to give the impression that the iPhone 16 series had Android-like features, but these have converged due to developments in both Android and iOS, making them less dissimilar. This has led to a smartphone market where telling iPhones apart from Androids is becoming increasingly difficult.
